Farmer Maridin Ikhsan work in fields of tobacco and chili pepper on Marapi Volcano in Western Sumatra, Indonesia. Marapi Volcano in Indonesia is over 9400 feet high. The soil on the mountain is rich and many locals plant crops on the side of the steep slopes. I have been on assignment to several countries in Asia the last few weeks and watching farmers work in the early morning light on rained soaked fields was amazing. Here are a few images from the tobacco and chili pepper fields. (Photo by Billy Weeks)
